Pepper Basham never ceases to amaze me with her God given gift of words. This novel holds so many emotions. The heroine, Julia, is facing some tough decisions and hard emotions she has to work through with a therapist. She literally runs into Henry while she's holding an armful of decorated cupcakes. Soon they start spending time together and sharing their mutual love for all things music. Julia's "country boy" dad has a hard time accepting that two of his daughters are dating men from England. "Fancy Pants" and "Twinkle Toes" he calls them.
Henry was so easy to love. He was drawn to Julia almost immediately and didn't let the fact that she was expecting another man's baby deter him. Julia had issues to work through and I was drawn to her and felt her turmoil in my own soul. Their respective families were as far different as the East is from the West. It was so amazing to realize in spite of what a hard time growing up Henry had, that he turned out so well. I found myself laughing out loud one minute and grabbing a Kleenex the next. And the description of the scenery makes me want to plan a trip to Appalachia very soon.
I received a complimentary copy of the ebook from the publisher but was not required to write a review.
