A very moving and true story of Shirley, who got a second chance at love. Her story is full of love, grief, new beginnings, family and travel. Her first husband Bill was a very active and outdoor type man. They were married 40 years. At age 61 Shirley finds herself a widow for the first time. She lays her heart bare before us all and tells about her emotions and how she copes, with God’s help. The story chronicles her journey of memories and pure survival.
After a years time she no longer wants to be alone and on advice of a friend joins an online dating service. Her second attempt brings Blair into her life. They click mightily and a new adventure begins. Follow along as they travel to all kinds of places including South Africa.
I enjoyed all the descriptions of the places and scenery. She wrote where I could picture it all and feel like I was right along with them. Come along with her on her personal journey of love, grief and hope. Cry, laugh, and pray.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through Celebrate Lit but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise. All opinions are my own.
