Through Rushing Water is the story of a missionary to the Ponca Indians in 1876, during their quest for civil rights. In honor of Martin Luther King Day, I'm giving away three copies of Through Rushing Water - in audio or paperback. To enter the contest, answer this question:  What role should Christians play in social justice movements?

Sounds like a book I would enjoy as historical fiction. As Christians we need to be involved with our government officials and giving input and action when we can make a difference!

I think Christians should support social justice movements through prayer, our time and financial support.

Rhonda, Shirley, and Jan, I'm sorry you missed the drawing, but thank you for sharing your wisdom about social justice. Praise God for those with the courage to get involved!

As Christians we should stand up for the rights of all people. If we are to be God's light in this world we need to show his love to all men. That does not mean that the sins should be loved, but the sinners of this world should.

I think it is imperative that we as Christians stand up for what we believe in especially in social justice movements.

Thank you so much each and every one of you for participating in this discussion. I wish I could give a copy of Through Rushing Water to each of you! So many mentioned the importance of prayer. My heroine signed up for a mission trip to escape her roommate, an 1876 Bridezilla, without praying! If only she'd had friends like you…

Here at the Richmond Rabbit Ranch, we kept it simple and drew names from a hat. The winners are:

Dorothy Cowling

Diana Montgomery

Carol Moore

Congratulations to you three! And blessings to all the rest of my sisters in Christ here on Book Fun!

Jean, standing up for God's word is part of being salt and light. Blessings to you.

Johnette, yes, Through Rushing Water is about a missionary who spoke up and stood up for what she believed in - even when everything went wrong. Blessings on your mission!
