Falling for You focuses on Willow Bradford, the oldest of the Bradford sisters and a famous model in her own right.  As a favor to her parents, Willow has set aside her modelling career for several months in order to fill in as manager of her family’s bed and breakfast.  The plan to take a break and return to her hometown of Merryweather, Washington, was perfect, until she encounters her former boyfriend and legendary NFL quarterback, Corbin Stewart.  After suffering a career-ending injury, Corbin is finally regaining a sense of normalcy.  However, Willow and Corbin’s past relationship continues to serve as a wall between them, even when Corbin’s niece begs them both to help her solve a missing persons case.  Digging through the past forces both of them to reexamine their own history, shining light on the power of redemption and forgiveness at every turn.

Falling for You continues the Bradford Sisters series, starting off soon after the events of True to You.  Ms. Wade uses her award-winning talents to draw readers in to this story, filled with both romance and mystery in the Pacific Northwest.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Falling for You!  The novel can certainly function as a stand-alone story.  However, readers will most appreciate it as a sequel to Then Came You and True to You.  Ms. Wade expertly intertwines the tales of the Bradford sisters, as well as their extended family and friends, throughout this set of novels.  This series includes a focus on characters solving mysteries, especially missing persons cases, which presents some darker moments than those found in Ms. Wade’s previous works.  While these elements may make these stories less accessible to a general audience, she very much maintains her focus on developing a novel filled with Christian themes.  Even with more mature topics, she still makes the storyline clean and accessible, which is definitely impressive.  Her excellent character development and humor also can be found throughout the novel, which makes it one of my favorites so far this year.

Special thanks to Bethany House for the complimentary copy of Falling for You!  Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
