This trilogy of novellas has come as a surprise to me. I'm not usually a huge reader of fantasy/epic fiction, usually sticking with Narnia and Middlearth, but I have sincerely enjoyed and looked forward to reading each of these stories. A nice historical with a little mystery, a couple of very different romances, and some realistic family dynamics that are well developed and fascinating.
