Review of 52 Reasons to Believe: Concise Thoughts on the Christian Faith

“Confront your questions, disarm your doubt, and strengthen your spiritual life. This book won’t provide all the answers, but it will give you concise thoughts on the Christian Faith …” Gregg Peter Farah states in his book, 52 Reasons to Believe: Concise Thoughts on the Christian Faith.

Review of Chronological Life Application Study Bible – KJV

“The Chronological Life Application Study Bible helps the reader see the larger story by breaking up traditional books of the Bible into 10 major eras of biblical history, intermingling the Scriptures into a single, unified story from Creation to end.”

My Bat Mitzvah - A Page From She Does Not Fear the Snow

After the Prayer Tower, we walked back to our guesthouse just outside the Jaffa Gate.  All the way, Terry speculated about the meaning of what she was now confidently calling the angels in her camera.

The pictures were intriguing.

It struck me that the colour and texture of my beautiful tallit prayer shawl and its matching kippah, or skull cap, was the exact same buttery gold silk as these pictures.

It was made especially for my adult Bat Mitzvah, in…

Review of EPIC GRACE: CHRONICLES OF A RECOVERING IDIOT

“… Epic grace is freely available for everyone. It’s bigger than we can possibly imagine, better than we deserve, and strong enough to beautifully transform our broken lives into trophies of God’s grace,” Kurt W. Bubna states in his book, Epic Grace: Chronicles of a Recovering Idiot.

The Prince of Light by Tasarla Romaney

Note to self: when reading high fantasy, don't jump in at the end of the series. While I was able to grasp some of the story arc from the final book, I have to admit I felt lost for many chapters.

"The Prince of Light" is true high fantasy. Tasarla has crafted a self-contained world of imagination with crisp word choices and sentence structure that lends…

Review of A MARRIAGE IN MIDDLEBURY

"Over the years the stone had been a pleasant memento, reminding her of the smooth things in life that brought delight, but it had become a burden to her as well. Lately, it had become too heavy to carry,” Anita Higman writes in her novel, A Marriage in Middlebury.

Winter in Full Bloom by Anita Higman

Just finished reading Winter in Full Bloom, and I very much enjoyed it.  Although I was not asked to write a review on this title, I will do so in a couple of days as a way to say "thank you" to this gifted author.  I appreciate being given such excellent Christian fiction selections.  More later.....

Review of Infernal Gates by Michael J. Webb

“There is always a price to pay,” she continued, “for walking in the authority and power of the Lord.” (Tabitha to the group of warriors gathered in her home)

Michael J Webb’s latest book, Infernal Gates, has been the most unusual reading experience I’ve had it quite some time. I found myself alternately mesmerized and frustrated. Let me explain. The premise…

Review of PRAYING FOR YOUR HUSBAND FROM HEAD TO TOE

“Praying for your husband will do more than impact your husband’s life: it will impact your heart as well. Don’t be surprised if God stirs a love for your husband that is stronger, deeper, and more precious than ever before,” Sharon Jaynes writes in her book, Praying for Your Husband from Head to Toe.

Giving Back

Hebrews 13:1-2

Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Do you feel blessed or beaten down? Are you healthy, living in a home with heat and air conditioning, and have plenty to eat? If you answered yes to all three of these situations then you are truly blessed. Not all are so lucky. What better time of year than Thanksgiving for us to count our blessings and share our good…

Review of PLEASE DON'T LET ME DIE

“There was one thing I knew for sure. Through my pain, I had to do something to find out what took away my Danielle. I had to do all I could to pull apart the pieces that led to her death,” Patrick J. McCarthy explains in his book, Please Don’t Let Me Die: A Father’s Journey Through Grief and the Criminal Justice System.

Review of Gatehaven by Molly Noble Bull

This story was very creepy. I mean that in a good way. If you’re going to read suspense, you want to be creeped out. Add historical to the suspense, and you have a sort of gothic setting. This is a combination I really enjoy. Even the title, Gatehaven, implies something of a macabre nature, and the fact that the occult is involved.

Our heroine, Shannon…

Book Review - A Talent For Trouble by Jen Turano

This series just keeps getting better and better! The comedy, the romance, the historical settings! I have read quite a few historical fiction books over the last few years and I have to say that Jen Turano's style of writing is like a breath of air. It's fresh, it's funny, and yet it stays true to the best in Christian historical fiction. I started reading this series with book 2, A Most Peculiar Circumstance, and…

Review of Hear No Evil by Mary Hamilton

She leaves, crying, telling him she doesn't want him around anymore. What sort of summer will this be?
