"Doppelganger" is a German word meaning "double-goer".  In usage, it refers to the ghostly counterpart of a living person. In German legends, the Doppelganger haunt their living counterparts.

In The Fourth Kingdom Karl Helmick's cloning facility is called Doppelganger.  Through cloning, the mythological concept of the doppelganger actually becomes reality since the clones are exact replicas of living things.

The Fourth Kingdom is set at a time when cloning…

Children of Dreams - a review

This is the true story of a courageous single woman’s quest to adopt two international children, despite what often seemed like insurmountable obstacles.  Lorilyn Roberts weaves a tale that is nothing short of inspiring. Heartfelt, beautifully written and engaging from cover to cover, this is a story of perseverance, tenacity, and immeasurable love on the part of a broken divorcee who follows her dream to become a mother. In the process she learns what it means to trust in God completely,…

The Fourth Kingdom

In the late 1980's, Joyce watched a "60 Minutes" interview with an old German man who was talking about civilization's greatest need.  According to him, the greatest need of civilization was for a savior--not a religious savior as we have traditionally believed but a "Secular Savior."  A secular savior could unite countries and…

This is a general market short story I wrote a few years ago, and it's free on Kindle for the next three days.

While it isn't Christian fiction, it is a story of hope, not giving up and what happens when you do.

I thought maybe you'd enjoy it, so…

The Girl with the Green Eyes

My brother, Israel, was an amazingly talented artist.  (I say "was" because although he is very much alive and well, he no longer draws or pursues art.)  Although he had no formal lessons or training, as a teenager, he spent hours sketching.  When our brother Ben became a youth pastor, Israel decorated the wall of Ben's office with a…

The second action he took was to blush. The water glass accident and subsequent blushing were endearing. I mention all of this because Mr. Wallace is unpretentious and likable and so are the…
