My Fair Princess -a review

A mythical kingdom, a fairy princess, a lowly suitor and an arranged marriage – everything a good fairy tale needs is exactly what you’ll find in My Fair Princess by Nona King. If a sweet romance is what you’re looking for then look no further. The plot centers around Princess Nia of Alaeria and her arranged marriage to Shamus O’Neill, mayor of a neighboring region. She complies out of duty, but is surprised that the mayor may actually be to her liking after all. The book…

Organized and Energized: Digging out the Nuggets from the Great Lakes Getaway

All around the country, members of ACFW gather whenever and wherever they can inside their regions to challenge and encourage one another with their writing passions and ministries.

Last weekend I attended the Minnesota N.I.C.E Great Lakes Getaway retreat on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, MN, only a short drive from my home in the Big Woods of Wisconsin. Our guest instructor, suspense author Colleen Coble, taught the workshops.…

How To Experience Your Oneness With Christ

I wrote this book to help Christians experience their spiritual oneness with Christ.  Your spiritual oneness with Christ is the highest element of your Christian Life.  Experiencing your oneness with Christ engages your spirit in true worship that glorifies God and fills you with joy and peace and allows you to be the very best witness for the Lord.

The book is actually a workbook based upon Romans Six.  Each…

Out Take: Chapter One, The Bride Wore Blue

For me, writing means rewriting. I’d written the first chapter for The Bride Wore Blue then decided it was “backstory.”

I chose instead to begin Vivian Sinclair’s story at a point of action, with her moving forward. But I kept the Out Take, and I thought you might enjoy a peek into Vivian’s past.

May 1897

Paris was her only option.

Vivian Sinclair lay across the windowpane crazy quilt on her bed. She needed to hear from Father again. Soon.…

No-Parking Zones

It really aggravates me to see someone parked in a no-parking zone or in a handicapped space when they're obviously not handicapped.  Hale and hearty individuals who think they are better than others or have more important business than others often reserve "the right" to park in fire zones, handicapped spaces and other no-parking zones.  The fleshly side of me would love to…

What's On the Inside?

Anger. My dictionary defines it as, "a feeling of extreme displeasure, hostility, indignation, or exasperation toward someone or something," (The American Heritage Dictionary, 1982). I have to admit, I've experienced this emotion on many occasions. From the careless driver who cuts me off in traffic, to the…
