REVIEW OF LIONESS: MAHLAH'S JOURNEY by BARBARA BRITTON

Lioness: Mahlah’s Journey gives credence to one of the little known stories of the Bible in a realistic and inspiring manner. The average reader would easily skip over the passages of scripture upon which author Barbara Britton bases her novel.

The daughters of Zelophehad, first mentioned in Numbers in the Bible, are five orphaned sisters. The oldest, Mahlah, must stand up against a male-dominated society to claim her family’s right to property in the Promised Land.…

Stitches in Time by Suzanne Woods Fisher

I always love to find the reasons for the title of a book and Stitches In Time had several. Not the least of which is the name of Izzy’s yarn shop. And since this book is dealing with Foster Children, healing their hearts a stitch at a time.

There were lots of reverence’s to sheep and their shepherd. Izzy loved her sheep and they knew her voice. Which led to correlating the Good Shepherd (Jesus) with his sheep (us). I had read that lots of Amish do not know the Bible, the father reads…

Amish Front Porch Stories by Wanda, Jean & Richelle Brunstetter

This was a collection of eighteen stories by the Brunstetter’s, Mother, Wanda, Daughter In Law, Jean and Granddaughter, Richelle.

Each story covered one of the Fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23, Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Meekness, Temperance.

These stories caused me to do lots of soul searching and introspection of my own self. Some hit very close to home!

The lesson in The…

Second Chances by Shirley Mozena

A very moving and true story of Shirley, who got a second chance at love. Her story is full of love, grief, new beginnings, family and travel. Her first husband Bill was a very active and outdoor type man. They were married 40 years. At age 61 Shirley finds herself a widow for the first time. She lays her heart bare before us all and tells about her emotions and how she copes, with God’s help. The story chronicles her journey of memories and pure survival.

Fatal Memories by Tanya Stowe

First of all I love the cover and how it fits perfectly into the story. The book had lots of mystery that had me wondering way into the story, just like Jocelyn and Dylan. Was she truly guilty of being tangled up with a drug gang or was she a victim of circumstances? Dylan thought she was guilty but Jocelyn had no clue. She lost her memory after a terrible explosion in a tunnel.

This novel held lots of heart thumping suspense as the characters were continually trying…

Shadow of the Dagger by Anne Greene

This is the first full length novel I’ve read by Anne Greene. I’ve read several other of her books in novella form, mostly sweet romance type stories. This one had hints of romance but mostly suspense, intrigue and danger. Nicole travels to Turkey alone in search of her missing brother Ian. He’s all that’s left of her family after losing her husband and parents. Shortly after arriving in Turkey her purse is snatched and she is rescued by Josh, a secret CIA Intel Analyst. He does not tell…

REVIEW OF THE KIDNAPPING OF CODY MOSS by SARA FOUST

The Kidnapping of Cody Moss is another engaging novel by author Sara Foust. The suspense and tension she packs into this story kept me up reading late into the night.

As Police Officer Annalise Baker races against time to find a young teen who has been kidnapped, the emotional stakes rise for her and the victim’s mother. The challenge she is facing professionally and the personal turmoil she is hurled into by her unappreciative husband adds dimension to her character and…

Hopes highest mountain

I went on a hallowing adventure in the 1800s through Hope’s Highest Mountain. Ingrid along with her father and two others experienced a wagon crash while traveling to Settlers Fort. Ingrid was the only survivor and was found near death by a mountain man, Micah. With a broken leg and ribs, Micah struggles to rescue her and help get her on the road to healing. Her only thought is to get the vials of life saving medicine to the doctor in Settlers Fort.

Traveling on foot,…

One Final Breath by Lynn H. Blackburn

This is book three in the Dive Team Investigations but you can enjoy it even if you’ve not read the first two. There are three cases being investigated at the same time. One in which Anissa’s best friend was murdered and a three year old was abducted. A young teenage boy was shot and killed while swimming in a lake and Anissa is being pursued and followed by an unknown source. Anissa is head of the dive team and Gabe, once an undercover investigator, is now trying to help her find…

Better Than Fiction by April W Gardner

This was a different form of a time slip novel. The main female character Meghan pursues her dream of writing a novel in the present day while the novel she is “writing” pertains to the 1916 auto race in Corona, California.

For me it was full of emotions. One minute it brought me on a high, the next minute I was wiping tears from my eyes. The characters were so real and broken, just like we find ourselves at times. I really felt for Meghan but she and her husband…

Always Look Twice by Elizabeth Goddard

Right from the very first chapter I was enthralled and found doing my mundane chores such a bore and too time consuming. The action was heart pounding and the culprit a total mystery. I drew close to the characters with their individual issues and kept rooting for them.

Harper is photographing nature when she inadvertently sees a murder through her camera lens. Heath is a reserve deputy and came across Harper running from the scene. She thinks the man with the rifle saw her through his…
