Review of ISCARIOT

“I wanted to comfort her, but there was nothing left to say. I had chosen my master over them already. Whatever his fate, whatever he was – madman or Messiah – I would live or die with him,” Judas ponders about Jesus in Tosca Lee’s story, Iscariot: A Novel of Judas.

Review of TUCK-ME-IN TALKS WITH YOUR LITTLE ONES

“We develop strong relationships with our youngsters by spending time with them. Both the quantity and the quality of these interactions are important. This calls for intentionality and creativity,” Grace Fox writes in the introduction of her book, Tuck-Me-In Talks with Your Little Ones – Creating Happy Bedtime Memories.

Review of MINDING MOLLY

“I had to get Mervin interested in Hannah again. That was the only thing that would change Mamm’s mind. Then she’d surely be fine with Leon. And if not … What was I willing to do? Run off with him? All the way to Montana? Of course not,” Molly considers in Leslie Gould’s novel, Minding Molly.

Review for Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade - 5 stars

Review of THE ADVOCATE

The Advocate “I was born to be an advocate for the truth, to fight for justice, to speak for the powerless. But in my greatest test I had failed miserably. I had lost my nerve and at a critical moment abandoned my principles,” Theophilus regrets in Randy Singer’s novel, The Advocate.

Said Mercy me –

Everyone’s afraid of me!

They zoom away and let me be –

Just me, Bea, by myself.”

A Week in the Shadow of the Cross

The week leading up to Easter is a very emotional time for me. As I think back to all the Bible verses I’ve read about how Jesus suffered for me I cannot phantom how anybody could love me that much. But I know Jesus does. I feel it deep inside me as much as I feel my heart beating. Every living person on this earth will let us down, but not our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In today’s post I want to share a scripture to read every day this week along with a few thoughts to…

Review of RILEY MAE AND THE READY EDDY RAPIDS

“Dad would probably call that a “God Moment.” And he’d be right. In fact, when I really thought about it, I realized that God had been protecting me throughout this whole Swiftriver adventure,” Riley considers in Jill Osborne’s novel, Riley Mae and the Ready Eddy Rapids.

Review of MY BEDTIME STORY BIBLE

“Snuggle with your child and look him or her in the eyes as you talk about the stories. The intimacy you establish with your child will form a foundation for his or her future intimacy with God,” Jean E. Syswerda’s suggests in her children’s book, My Bedtime Story Bible.

Review of A PROMISE IN PIECES

“I’m not sure how, but over the next few years, we can visit families who’ve been hurt by the war and share Gareth’s story with them and stitch their sons’ and grandsons’ names into the quilt. We’ll fill every inch of space and remember them all,” Clara explains in Emily T. Wierenga’s novel, A Promise in Pieces.

Review of I BELIEVE IN HEAVEN

“Each story tells of the dying person seeing angels, Jesus or some special person in their lives, who came to escort them to heaven. These experiences have provided immense peace for those who were at the scene,” state Cecil Murphey and Twila Berk of their book, I Believe in Heaven – Real Stories from the Bible, History and Today.

Review of BRIDGE TO HAVEN by Francine Rivers

Oh, what have I done? She wrapped her arms around herself, breathing shallowly through the pain. What would Pastor Zeke think? And Joshua? Oh, Joshua, if you could see me now. A mocking tune played in her head. She’d burn the bridge to Haven long ago,” Abra ponders in Francine River’s novel, Bridge to Haven.
