Scripture for Thursday, March 30 (3/30)

The scripture for today, March 30, is John 3:30 as found in the New Testament of the Bible:

"He must become greater; I must become less."

This is John the Baptist speaking. He had a great following. People "were constantly coming to be baptized" by John (3:23). He…

Home by Ginny Yttrup

This is the second book I've read by Ginny Yttrup and it's just as good if not better than the first one. Her stories carry lots of psychological drama. Home had multiple layers. The characters were ones I could deeply care about, their issues, their problems and their outcomes. I got throughly engrossed in the story and could almost feel my presence in the pages of the book. The descriptions of the surroundings in each location was easily imagined. It was emotional and heartwarming. Full of… Continue

Doctor's Dilemma by Richard Mabry, M.D.

I enjoy reading medical suspense, one of my favorite genres, and when it's written by a real MD like Richard Mabry, it's especially good! I quickly got drawn into the story and the lives of the characters. A doctor fresh out of his residency with no options for a job takes one with the Hall Group. Shortly after he begins work he starts getting warning notes, phone calls and death threats to leave the group. He already has a special interest in a nurse at the hospital or he would pack his bags… Continue

The scripture for today, March 27, is Proverbs 3:27f as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:

Scripture for Sunday, March 26 (3/26)

The scripture for today, March 26, is Galatians 3:26f as found in the New Testament of the Bible:

"You are all sons of God through faith in Christ, because all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ."

The Muslim religion teaches that God is too far above humans to have such a relationship. They believe God created humans to have someone to worship him and be his slaves. But the Bible says God created humans to have someone to…

Review of IF YOU WERE ME AND LIVED IN ... THE MAYAN EMPIRE

If You Were Me and Lived in....the Mayan Empire

“If you were me and lived during the Mayan (My-an) civilization, you would be born around 1500 years ago in the year 572 and would have made your home in one of the many Mayan cities,” Carole P. Roman writes in her children’s book, If You Were Me and Lived in … the Mayan Empire  – A Child’s Introduction to Culture Around the World.

Long Way Gone

Really enjoyed this read. The writing style is so different, and the storyline is incredibly well done. Giving this five stars because it touched my heart and brought a tear or two. Very few books do that.

The characters seem so real, and the plot ( though not original) is so very touching. This was my first by this author, but I don't expect it will be my last. This had a strong faith theme...and a bit of the unseen spiritual world.

Recommend. This book will find a place… Continue
