Little Felted Dogs: Easy Projects for Making Adorable Pups

“Needle felting is a simple craft that basically requires only a single tool: the felting needle,” Saori Yamazaki writes at the beginning of her book, Little Felted Dogs: Easy Projects for Making Adorable Pups.

Positioning Ourselves For Restoration

And they lived happily ever after…

As I write this, Downton Abbey is in its final season. There is one particular woman in this drama, Edith, who has had it “hard”, relatively speaking. She’s the middle girl. Nothing is expected of her and she is often ridiculed and relegated as unimportant. Her older sister is flat out mean to her. She’s left at the altar once. She scandalously gets involved with a married man. He goes off to Germany to try to get a divorce in order…

Bronner A Journey to Understand by Sherri Burgess

Wow, just Wow!

I can't imagine having to go through what Sherri and Rick Burgess went through and coming out of it praising God. But that's exactly what happened. Sherri credits the writing of the whole book not to herself but to the Holy Spirit. It took her five years to write, putting it away at times for various reasons. Rick even spoke at his son Bronner's memorial service and it's included in this book, word for word. I've always been a big fan of the Rick and Bubba show and remember… Continue

The Mountain Midwife – Laurie Alice Eakes (4 Stars)

Inspired by the families of her historical fiction novels, Laurie Alice Eakes’ The Mountain Midwife tells the story of one of their modern-day descendants and her quest to continue the family’s legacy as midwives.  Ashley Tolliver gave up her dream to become a doctor and have her own family to carry on her grandmother’s role as midwife in the Appalachian community her family has called home for generations.  Years later, she finally has the opportunity to pursue her medical dreams, as…

Review of THE FROG THAT LOST ITS CROAK

The Frog That Lost His Croak

“The little frog was very sad.

He had lost his croak and no friends he had,

Because bragging about his wonderful croak had made the other frogs mad.”

Anne Toole writes in her children’s book, The Frog that Lost Its Croak.
