What a beautiful story! Thanks for sharing!
Q 4 The cover on To Dance Once More uses one of my favorite color combinations which is blue and brown. The beautiful house makes me want to know what happens inside it. The title, without knowing anything about the book, makes me wonder what has caused the lady to not be able to dance. Has she been in an accident and the damage to her legs can not be seen because of her long skirt, or has the musician lost the ability to play music to dance by or has depression come to visit and vanquished the desire to dance? Lots of possibilities to consider from that cover!
Song of the Meadowlark has a perfect cover. The lady looks lost in thought. I have always been attracted to shadow puppets and the bird on the fence post with the wire has that effect. The layering and colors used along with the woman's expression are effective in generating a mood of longing. A question forms: just what is she thinking? This is a very appealing cover to me which generates a longing to read it!
Thank you for offering these books for the contest. This is a great way to bring attention to your writing and gain new readers.
Blessings, Janice (P. S. If you open the book is it like a musical card and you can hear the bird sing?)
Wow! I love your feedback! I hope you are able to read both books so you can know the answers to your questions! :)
I am so glad the covers touched you in such a way! Now wouldn't that be fun if the book opened and a bird sang?
What a wonderful story of forgiveness! Thank you so much for sharing!
1. I was in a wrong relationship many years ago that many people warned me about. I found it far easier to get others forgiveness than to forgive myself. It took a long time, but now I can say that I am far better off without that person in my life. I prefer to say that I started a new direction rather than started over. The first step was to get my relationship with Jesus back on track. Which led to a completely different path than the one I was on previously. As I focus more on my relationship with Him, then other relationships fall in line. I've had to walk away from a few friendships in the process, but Jesus has brought many new and healthier friendships into my life. He is so very good.
So true! If you can get that relationship with Jesus right first then all things fall into place as they should. Praise Him!
I agree with Maxie Anderson. Sometimes the book covers make me want to read the book. I too wish that the books being given away were "real" and not e-books.
I hate that at this time I am not able to offer print copies. I love to read print, as well. I have to purchase the giveaway books myself from my publisher and my husband is out of work right now. But maybe one day I will be able to do it. Thanks for your comments!
Generally, if the cover does not entice me to read a book, I won't. Sometimes the title might catch my attention, and I will read the summary to decide. Covers, I think, are very important. Also if the cover does not align with the descriptions of characters in the text, that is disappointing.
Did you ever have to humble yourself and admit that someone was right when they warned you about something? Were you able to ask forgiveness and start over?
I sure have had that happen to me. I guess when you are 63 it is easier to admit to things like this than when you are young. My daughter has had some serious problems and I have always been able to see them but this last one I did not want to see. Her lying turned into major theft and when someone told me she was in trouble I did not see it until it was too late. Now she is in jail, her husband has divorced her and has custody of their 7 year old daughter. My heart is broken. Yes, I have been able to admit I did not really want to see this and we are working out our relationship. Real friends tell you the truth,.....acquaintances so not and the person who risked our friendship by telling me the truth is a true friend. Than forgiveness is easier.
