MANDATORY ANSWER ONE OF THE QUESTIONS BELOW TO BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAWING!
1. This is a serious matter that seems we can not do anything about. Lisa Harris lists a few things we can do that matter.
First of all pray. Pray for the men, women, and children involved in this horrific crime.
Second, inform yourself about what is happening. Churches are getting involved, and there are groups like Free the Captives (www.freethecaptiveshouston.com ) who are making a difference.
Thirdly, go where you hear God sending you and reach out to those around you. It might mean getting involved with a group who is specifically fighting human trafficking. Or it might be a hurting neighbor down the street, a lonely teen in your church’s youth group, or a forgotten elderly person in your apartment building. Through His strength, we can make a difference--wherever we are--one person at a time.
KNOW OF OTHER WAYS WE CAN GET INVOLVED - other Organizations that help in this situation????
2. In light of this ever growing sex trafficking situation do you do things a little differently with your children - example keep a closer watch on them in parks etc? Talk to them about things your parents never talked to you about, safety, stranger danger? Do you think twice about leaving them alone to play outside your own home, park, let them walk home from school?
3. Can you name something we can do to bring awareness to this matter and help our children understand the ways of the world without freaking them out? Any suggestions for parents? Grown-ups?
4. Have you read any of Lisa Harris's other books? Which ones did you like? Why?

This sounds like an exciting book. It's really too bad, however, that we now have to worry about such heinous acts against us women and even our girls. How much further can things go. I can only say: Come soon, Lord.
Thank you for the work your family is doing in Africa. I had once wanted to be a missionary myself, but after I experienced a few very draining summers in our prairies and knew that I'd probably be stuck with a lifelong health problem, I decided not to. I had actually wanted to join Wycliffe Bible Translators because of my facility with languages, but I ended up teaching languages.
Lisa and her family is doing an amazing job in Africa. She has lots of pictures on her website I encourage everyone to check out. It is horrible that this is going on. But I'm thankful people have the courage to talk about it now and others have the courage to listen and learn!
Thanks for sharing Carrie! Lisa is a powerful writer. This story takes place in Atlanta and will be an interesting and insightful read I'm sure!
I have read several of Lisa's books. They were all romances that were good, clean and uplifting. That was why I liked them. It would be interesting to read something other than a romance to see if it were just as compelling and uplifting. :O)
Oh, Lisa is compelling and insightful. It's also uplifting and encouraging!
I worried about this most all my life coming from a big city. My children were not ever out of my site. They thought I was overly protective. But now they have children. We live in a rural area but it can still happen here.
It's funny how our kids see things differently when they are parents! The world is very different in the parent seat! Grin!
My children are adults with children, who are almost adults, but I know that they keep pretty close tabs on them. They all are in pretty constant contact with parents via cell phones. Scary stuff. I have read a couple of Harris's books, but don't remember the titles right now - I love the Christian romantic suspense genre.
It is powerful and Lisa Harris puts the reader in the middle of the drama. I've enjoyed that about her other books!
I have not read any of Lisa Harris' books.
WOW! Thanks for sharing about this Jean! "Hope for Freedom" I'll be praying for you all! Thanks for doing what you do!
#2 I keep an eye out for the neighbor kids since my children are older and grandkids are out of state. Everyone needs to pay attention to the children around you and your neighborhood.
