ABOUT BOOK: 1925 – What happens in the roaring twenties when a daredevil barnstormer falls in love with a wing-walking flapper threatened by dangerous men who will exploit her? Orphan and wing-walker Gloria needs a job when her boss dies in a barnstorming accident. With no other jobs available, she sweet-talks Rand into letting her walk his wing.

Flying Ace Rand fights wartime injuries that hamper his flying even as he works to gain the world-record for solo flight across the Atlantic. He bucks his wealthy dad’s plans for him to settle down, join the company, and marry a socialite. Rand falls in love with the courageous, fun-loving, talented, and above all daring Gloria. But Orphan Gloria’s experienced too many men who promise love and marriage and instead take advantage of her being alone in the world. She holds Rand at arm’s length. Without her knowledge, Rand protects her and makes sure she doesn’t starve. When Gloria’s offered a movie contract Rand knows he must intervene. Will Gloria turn her back on fame and fortune to wed a man addicted to danger?

I am not the wild/daredevil type (I am bookish/librarian).  If I could do anything, I would want to travel.  I would love to visit other countries.  One destination would be Hay-on-Wye in England.  A town full of bookshops.

Oh how fun it would be to be a daredevil. I would get in a fighter jet and fly upside down, streak across the sky as fast as I could and do loops until I got dizzy. I would fly to a deserted island and explore the place , then fly across the world and visit libraries. My dream is to go to a library in every state someday.

I am not the daredevil type at all, the wildest thing I have ever done was I rode on a motorcycle in the mountains.

This is a nice quick read.  Lovely story of a wingwalker in the 20’s and a pilot.  I enjoyed reading about and learning more about wingwalking.  I received a copy of this book from The BookClub Network and the author. The review is my own opinion.  I posted my review on Amazon.  Could not find it on Goodreads,  or Barnes and Noble.

Thanks for the review Galinda and for letting us know the places you posted it and the places you couldn't find it. Grin!

3.  Downhill skiing!  I am definitely not a daredevil!

wow a wingwalker! First heard of them while watching the Waltons on TV.

Hope my name is selected for a copy as I've read the author's other works and have enjoyed the reads.

2. What is the wildest thing you've ever done?

walking out on the rim of the west side of the Grand Canyon where the arch way where you walk was like glass and you could see below you. . we visited the 3rd day it opened.

It sounds exciting to be a wing walker, have also seen it on the Waltons. I prefer the armchair version of this - I have had so many different dreams of what to do when I grow up...anything from the FBI or Secret Service to Peace Corp. What has resonated over the years that is still interesting to me would be a writer - or at least a researcher. And in hopes of paying the bills in the meantime, a bookstore. Not sure if it would be Christian or Mystery, combination new and used. I'm looking forward to reading this and learn more about the women courageous women in the last century!

3. I always wanted to be a missionary in a far away land. Now I am a grandma and have to be a missionary in my own little world.

#3. To help someone in need

3.to be a missionary in an undeveloped country.
