One of the reasons I enjoyed writing One Year Alone with God: 366 Devotions on the Names of God was that I had an opportunity to dwell on names and attributes of God that I had not previously considered.
With all the names and attributes of God in the Bible, which one is your favorite? Why?
I like Abba Father, As I am fatherless, it reminds me that any earthly father cannot come close to the awesomeness of my true father, my daddy, my protector, my encourager. My God!
Tanya - what a special reminder of God's intimate relationship with you. You ARE his precious daughter!
My favorite name of God is Adonai Shammah "The Lord is There" because He is the God who is present all the time. This has always been a comfort to me but even more so when my mom passed away. I'm so glad I never have to say good bye to Jesus.
Jenny - I'm so sorry for your loss. What a blessing to know that God is always there to surround us with His comfort and wrap us in His grace.
Abba is the name that comes to me most often. It is the name that lets me know I am his and I am loved. I also grew up without the love and attention of my father. That loss colored most of my youth and early adulthood. When I found God, he reminded me how much he loves me, how much he cares. He is Abba.
Cynthia - I never cease to be amazed that the God of Creation invites us to call Him Abba. No matter how good or bad our earthly fathers are, we have the privilege of calling God the Father our Papa! So glad you know Him and love Him...and know that He loves you!
Ava - I just downloaded your book. I look forward to adding it to my daily devotion.
Thank you, Cynthia. I pray it will be a blessing to you!
There is a place I can download your book? I Have Called The Lord Heavenly Father, Father, Abba-God, Jesus,
Everything in the name of the lord.
