ABOUT BOOK: Two Olympians are matched in a media campaign that turns into something more than a game. Rio Games silver medalist and social media darling CORA “JADE” ANDERSON is approached by a popular cell phone company to launch a flirty but fake media campaign with ice hockey star DAVIS ELLIOTT. When things get off to a rocky start, Cora and Davis both wonder what they’ve gotten into and how they’ll get through the months until the Korean games.

It’s not long until things start to warm up between the athletes and soon this fake romance becomes something much more real. Cora knows just how to work social media and engage her fans, and as the world watches and interacts with them, their love grows. When Davis is selected for Team USA, the opposition starts. As a Korean American, he’s already facing odds Cora can never comprehend, but he takes his frustration at the racism to the ice and lets the puck take the beating.

Things come to a head just weeks before the games begin. Can Davis and Cora’s very public relationship survive the aftermath of a very public confrontation, or are they going to have to let their love go when the Olympic flame is extinguished at the closing ceremonies?

Jade’s Match by Hallee Bridgeman is a sweet, romantic story of two dedicated Olympic athletes, Cora Anderson and Davis Elliott.  ValTech’s international marketing department launches a campaign to heighten attention upon Elliott before the Winter Games.  They have the idea to promote the careers of Davis and a female athlete through social media visibility.  Tennis star, Jade, already has a huge following so his link to her romantically would only increase his fan base.  Korean American, Dauntless Davis, is a hockey star but his popularity needs a boost before the Winter Games.  A fake relationship could be key.

His image of being a bad boy—a mistaken news report that had spread—is a put-off for Jade.  She hesitates to trust him and is rather aloof at their first meeting.  In fact, her comment that she thinks that his bad reputation won’t damage her too much.  His calling her fake and accusing her of showing a different image online than in real life does not help either.  Each has a preconceived notion about the other.

As they continue their pretend relationship for the fans, their popularity increases but it may be difficult to sustain this façade for any length of time.  Both are focused on their sports and must learn to see the real person behind their fake dating.  This journey changes both of their lives as they spend time with each other.  His first impression of her was that of this spoiled, entitled rich girl and her first impression of him as a bad boy make it difficult to see the truth and learn to really care about the other.

I would recommend this book to all who enjoy an original romantic plot.  I received this book through TBCN in exchange for a totally honest review.  (posted on Amazon, Good Reads, and Books-a-Million; not found on Christian Books, Deeper Shopping, or Barnes & Noble)

Thanks for the review Jacqueline

Jade's Match is a cute, sweet story of two Olympians who agree to a cell phone campaign romance. Both Jade and Davis are well written characters. If you are looking for a quick reading contemporary romance, you will enjoy this book! I received my complimentary e-book through TCBN. This is my honest opinion.  I posted reviews on Goodreads, Facebook, Amazon, Barnes and Noble.

THANKS for the review Joan!

Jade's Match by Hallee Bridgeman is book 7 in the Jewel series. Jade and Davis are using a wireless phone not yet released to promote the phone as well as to bring attention to the Olympic games. Jade is a silver medal winner for playing volleyball and Davis will be taking place in this years Olympics. They are to play the part of a couple meeting and getting involved in a steamy romance. At their first meeting Jade remembers seeing a photo of Davis in the paper and jumps to the conclusion that he was involved in an incident that she felt could jeopardize her reputation. Jade also lets something that happened in her earlier years affect how she reacts to Davis.

Davis spends time away from Jade and his family working toward the Olympics. He also struggles to work with dealing with his anger when put in hard situations.

Jade and Davis are both devote Christians, putting their Christian beliefs as a priority and not putting themselves in a situation where others might question their faith and actions.

This is a fun, easy to read story. With just 149 pages this is the perfect length to read in an evening or on a lazy afternoon. The thing that stands out to me in this story is when Davis stresses to Jade to let him open the door for her. This is one way a man shows respect to women and a woman letting a man open the door for her, is respecting him. Another thing is the reaction others have to Davis's ethnic background instead of his abilities.

I received a copy of this story from the author through Book Club Network, this is my honest review.
