(2)  Copies Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives

ABOUT Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives

Publication Date: November 1, 2008

If your spouse, or someone you know, has been deployed recently, the stress of that situation will resonate with you. Jocelyn Green speaks directly to the wives of deployed seamen, marines, airmen, and soldiers, via the experiences of their spouses.

This book is not a “ten easy steps” for a painless life, instead, it is a collection of devotions that squarely addresses the challenges wives face when their husbands are away protecting freedom. Challenges like: how does a military wife maintain a strong sense of patriotism without allowing her country to become an idol? What good can possibly come from moving every two to three years? And how can I be sure that God has a purpose for my life that is as strong as His purpose for my husband’s? The foundation of this devotional is the unchanging character of God and the anchor of Jesus Christ, even amidst the shifting circumstances of a military family.

ABOUT Faith Deployed …Again: More Daily Encouragement for Military Wives. Though Faith Deployed…

July 1, 2011
The highly anticipated sequel to award-winning Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives is here! As husbands are being deployed multiple times, the women left behind desperately need encouragement and strength to maintain the home-front. Often lonely, frequently overwhelmed by the needs around her, and continually stressed by a unique lifestyle, she needs to be equipped as to how to respond biblically to the daily struggles that threaten to wear her down.
Faith Deployed...Again: More Daily Encouragement for Military Wives is filled with wisdom and insight from over twenty-five Christian wives, representing every branch of the military, and explores how the Bible relates to a variety of topics and issues - including those that arise with post-deployment ¿ encountered in a military marriage. Each devotional is based on the unchanging character of God and the anchor we have in Jesus Christ offering encouragement, strength, community, and hope to the heroes at home. Faith Deployed...Again: More Daily Encouragement for Military Wives includes a bonus section of devotions written by and for Blue Star Moms. And a free online study guide is available at FaithDeployed.com.

The Ornaments I collect and look forward to seeing on the tree each year are the Madame Alexander Doll Ornaments!! I ask for those for my birthday every year. The other ornaments I look forward to seeing are the ones that have my childrens pictures in them and the ones they made in elementary school.  Each year we have our kids pick out their favorite ornament at the Hallmark store. I make it a point to get the one that's special to them each year. All three of my kids have their own box of ornaments that we add to every year. When they have their own family they will have lots of memories to hang on their trees.

I like seeing the ornaments that my children have picked out each year. This year we have our grandson Brayden. We will be getting him his first ornament for his box this year!! It's always fun to see them on the tree!

I also like setting up the nativity set my mother made me the first year we were married! It's a very large display!

I'm happy that people will win some of my books today!

My favorite ornaments are nativity ones, especially a tiny one inside a mini-egg (size of a robin's egg) and a musical one that plays It's a Small World.

It sounds lovely Karen!! Thanks for having this give away opportunity for TBCN members.

This question is a little difficult to answer....In August my husband and I separated and he got custody of the Christmas decorations.  Since money has been extremely tight, I wasn't planning on getting a Christmas tree this year.  However, 11 crazy friends of mine wouldn't settle for such Christmas Craziness!  They all showed up on my birthday with a Christmas Tree and ornaments.  Some brought ornaments from their own collection and others bought new ones.  So, I guess the answer to the question is ALL the ornaments I received this year I will be looking forward to putting up next year...sort of like a memorial, a memory of the love and friendship I have with those 11 crazy characters!  God has truly blessed me with the bestest of friends!

What Great Friends you have Cherie! I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Know that I'll be praying for you. Yes, the Christmas ornaments your friends gave you will be ones you will cherish I'm sure!! Thanks for sharing this with us!

How very blessed you are to have such wonderful friends. Hope your Christmas is blessed in many more ways.

No special theme but I do most like a bell my mother gave me from her mother. I will pass it down to my daughter after the boys are old enough to not break it :}

Happy Holidays and thanks for the contest.

That's neat!! Thanks for sharing Julie!

Our tree decorations are from all the years and so that encompasses 52+ years.  We bought a new ornament each year for our 3 daughters and when they married we gave them to them. We then began on the grandchildren. The ornaments, aside from ones we have that are "ours", represent 6 grandchildren. We only buy for 2 of them now since they are 15 and 13.  As you can see that is a mighty lot of ornaments!!! It is fun to see them each year.

That does sound fun Darlene!! How neat you've started that tradition with your grandchildren too. We are doing that with ours this year too! fun!

My favorite ornament on my tree is the star ,,,,and i collect a new ornament every year to add to my tree....very sentimental...each ornament had a story connected to it......love the special time of the year to celebrate our Savior....and the family togetherness......
