Does Holiness Really Matter? {Guest Post}

note from Poppy: My friend, speaker and author, Kathy Howard, has written a challenging article on “Fifty Shades of Gray”. Is “women’s porn” harmless, or is the Holy Spirit calling us to deny our curiosity and seek a pure mind?Here’s what Kathy has to say:Two years ago, the novel “Fifty Shades of Grey” caught the attention of American…See More

Trusting His Wisdom in Plan B {Thrive This Summer}

I recently returned from a very special holiday in France that included history, beauty, flower baskets, pastries, and lots of stinky cheese. Yummy!Unfortunately, this once in a lifetime vacation ended in shock! Two hours before take-off I was waiting for the hotel shuttle bus to the airport and discovered that my carry-on bag and smaller handbag tucked inside was GONE! With a sickening feeling, I realized it had been stolen while I was distracted.GONE were my passport, drivers’ license,…See More

I Can't. . .Or Can I?

“Do you want to go whitewater rafting on the Rogue River?” asked Jim. “A group of friends from work is going and they’ve invited us to join them.”“That sounds great,” I responded, my mind filling with pictures of us floating lazily down the river under a scorching sun, the gentle spray cooling our hot, relaxed bodies. Not…See More

Everything Seems to be Changing

 “Guess what?” I said cheerfully to my college-age daughter. “I’m going to enroll in Bible school next semester.”Malaika’s face registered the appropriate surprise, but I wasn’t prepared for what came next. Like someone whose worst nightmare had come true, she cried, “Oh no, Mother—you’re not going to be one of those adult…See More

What Matters Most?

The following is an excerpt from I'm Too Human to be Like Jesus. “Did you hear what happened to Ann? My friend Kathy asked. “Her house burned down yesterday and she lost everything. No one was hurt, fortunately, but all of Ann’s books, photo albums, personal mementos, her computer, and organ—everything is gone.”My heart grieved…See More

Where's Your Power?

“LOOK AND FEEL BETTER NOW!” screamed an advertisement in the local newspaper for the Grand Opening of a new health club. “Forty percent off,” it promised—off membership, that is, not body weight. And to convince all of us wavering, somewhat flabby couch potatoes that we couldn’t possibly pass up this wonderful opportunity, a…See More

How Can I Be More Like You, Lord?

“THE MORE YOU LAUGH AT HIM, THE LONGER HE’LL ACT SILLY,” my husband said quietly.“But he’s so funny,” I replied, “I can’t help it.” I worked hard to smother my laughter at the antics of a little Chinese boy sitting beside Jim in the hospital reception area.Waiting for some friends to arrive for a tour of the hospital in Singapore where he works, Jim was trying to catch a quick nap, while I watched the nonstop activity of our tiny neighbor. After jumping up and over the rows of armchairs, he ran…See More

Do You Know Any "Super Saints?"

“THIS WOMAN CAN’T BE FOR REAL,” I MUTTERED UNDER MY breath.Standing serenely at the front of the church auditorium in the sweltering heat, a slender, beautifully dressed and made-up southern belle waited for the crowd of chattering women to quiet down. Not a drop of glistening sweat rolled down her face.Since moving to Singapore (more accurately called “Sauna-pore”) a few months earlier, where my husband had taken a new job, I had yet to achieve the “sweatless” look. Instead, my hair stuck like…See More

WELCOME!! I'm SO EXCITED YOU ARE HERE!!! CONTEST LINKS LIVE 19th - 21st. You can enter to win copies of the books on the front page! Enter them all - Interact with the authors!! It's so much fun!

2012 is going to be a great BOOK FUN YEAR!! We are going to have more book giveaways, you’ll get to know more authors. Bethany house and B & H have some great featured authors this year and so does the group here called CAN (Christian Authors Network)

Check out the Book Club Pages. We have review sites, Book stores have put up pages, some of them are in the process of starting a book club, it just might be in your area. This is not a site you need to be on every day, but just check out parts of it when you can.

I LOVE Book club. I’m passionate about getting the word out about Christian authors and their books to book clubs. I think this could be a great for them to meet for each to learn from the other; authors from book clubs and book clubs from authors, I’ve seen that so far. It’s been fun to watch. We’ll see where the Lord leads us in 2012. We have many exciting opportunities lined up just for you. Book Clubs are about relationships with each other and with authors. It’s a win win!

Blessings to you
Nora
