Family comes first :) But you're already moving forward with your dreams even against the odds. Bravo!

Wow, Angie, congratulations on the word count. I really, really need to get back to work on my WIPs. My characters are so mad at me! I've left them in horrible situations with no resolution for years!

You are one busy lady. I so admire all that youdo. I have toyed with the idea for such a long time now of launching my own editing service. I just don't want to make that kind of commitment yet and find I can't fulfill it. Will see how things go with hubby.

Thanks for your comments on the site. I am really excited this week because I am developing a new page, Teens of Today and Tomorrow, and have had a great response from YA authors who want to feature their books on the site. I'm also going to be posting some work (book reviews  to start), from teens and tweens as well.

Patti, your website is delightful. I especially like that you share your Gunsmoke addiction and a guide to the episodes! Excellent way to show personality and share fun with your fans.

Hi Patti, Your life has not stopped either. Goodness. I'll pop over and see your site and give you some feedback.

This week I'm taking a college class, teaching an online class, editing for clients, and writing. I'm excited to report 1068 words today on Snowflake Tiara (The Debutante Queen novella). And I really liked the scene too.

What are you all up to this week?

Angie, so good to hear from you! So sorry to read about your accident & the deaths in your family. Praying for a speedy recovery and comfort to you and your husband.

My husband has had two surgeries since I last posted here. He had a new bypass inserted into his leg clear from his hip to down below his knee. However, between the time they had removed the old (infected) bypass graft in September and the October surgery, his toes became severely compromised. He had all five toes on his left foot amputated a week after the first surgery. He's still recovering from that. He's using a wheelchair and a walker to get around since he has no weight bearing to his left foot. When they removed the sutures, there was an area that had dehissed (the suture area did not close as it should have) and he has a pressure wound on top of the foot where a considerable amount of dead tissue had to be removed. So, he has two large wounds that yours truly treats daily with ointments and a new dressing.

I'm not thrilled with the doctor who did the foot surgery. Twice now, she has failed to keep appointments with my husband, and the trip to the Wound Care Clinic is a 250 mile round trip. Our other doc, the one who did the bypass, is wonderful and goes out of his way to meet the needs of his patients, so the comparison between the two doesn't put the foot surgeon in a very good light!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Keep them coming. My dear hubby can use all he can get!

Our son and DIL are still living with us. Looks like they are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and should be back home in the UK by late Feb -early March.

I've beefed up my web site and would love to have you all stop by and visit. Let me know what you think. I never get comments! LOL! I also started an author FB page. www.facebookcom/pattishene

Please let me know what social media connections I can make with all of you so we can support each other in 2014! Blessings everyone!

Wow, it's been forever since I checked in with you all. But here's what should be movie or something...Shortly after my last post, I had a major treadmill incident. It's funny now, but it wasn't then. I ended up with a badly sprained (in several places, not just one) toes, foot, ankle, knee. I had bruises all over, burned off skin, etc. I'll spare you the gory details. What I wrote is bad enough, yuck.

Poor little Guppy accidentally hit the full speed button on my treadmill when we were standing on it to see a picture on the wall. Yep, I went down hard. (She wasn't hurt at all, no worries.)

Then my father-in-law died and I had to do the funeral planning for a large Catholic high mass event. Then my husband's aunt died 2 weeks later and we had to travel for that one. Me still in recovery mode, was backed up several weeks on editing jobs and writing. And then it was Christmas. It just kept on rolling.

So now I'm going into hibernation, only the most important things are going to get done so I can meet my contracts. I will still do my posts on facebook because the Muse posts are actually marketing. But even my twitter stuff has dipped to near nothing. I keep trying to send out a thing or two a day, but most days I can't fit it all in.

With 7 books to edit this month and 4 of my own to write between now and July 1st, I'm going to have to be a minimalist. Anyone who would consider praying for me during the next 6 months, I'd be so grateful. Just send a prayer to the Lord any time I cross your mind. A prayer for my continued healing, success in meeting my deadlines, and calm to keep me moving steadily forward.

Thank you and know I miss you all!

Just wanted to explain.

That is a hoot, Cherie! Who in the world would know trick or treating is delayed?

I posted a fun pic on my facebook profile with Muse dressed up like a bookworm. He's hilarious.

9 books down and 53 more to judge :)

Back to it,

Hi, just checking in with you all.  Hoo, hoo to all of you. I am doing well, except hate having to come to the library to talk with you. It's rainy and cold here so trick-or-treating is postponed until Sat. nite. Thought that was a hoot.

Hoo hoo to you too!

I've been gone last week to speak. Came home to a Guppy day and then a work day. Today I've been home. Sort of working. "Sort of" being the key phrase. I was so tired that I needed down time. Soooo... here's a fun down time tip for you all that's a pampering and perk up thing:

Greek non-fat plain yogurt (a big dollop) mixed with red grape juice or red wine (about a tablespoon) and wear your food :D Yes, I said wear it. Take a hot, steamy bath for 20 minutes with this yogurt facial and you will tighten your skin, close your pores, reduce fine lines, and have the softest skin ever! Got it off the Doctors tv show a few weeks ago. It really works!

So I did that AND deep conditioned my hair with 1/4 cup honey mixed with 1/4 cup olive oil. Uh huh. My feathers are all shiny and soft now for a night hootin' around. To do all the primping, it did take me about an hour. But I think it was an hour needed after the racing from May-October I've done.

What do you all do to pamper yourselves and perk up?

Hoo Hoo, wait that should read you hoo...where are you all?  Hibernating for the winter?!  Taking a few minutes to stop in and say hi and see how you are all doing, and to share a moment that made me think of this club.

Was reading a book the other night, not Christian, but oh so funny when I started hitting those not nice words.  Well then I got a pic of a lady-was it Diane's mom who marks out the bad words as she goes along?!  Well this gave me a chuckle and was even tempted to get a pen/marker and do the same, but then decided I really didn't want to get out of the warm bed.  So didn't.  But knew I had to get on here and just say hi and see how you all are doing.

Be blessed, no matter what is keeping you busy these days.
