I love mysteries too.  I always insert mystery and adventure in my historical novels. Then they have lots of ups and downs to show what kind of stuff they're made of. Oh, and my hero always falls in love if he's not already in love when the book starts (most aren't yet).

I have Netflix as my only source of TV (well, and a small antenna on my wall behind it).  I have the TV on in the evenings for a couple hours while I multi-task.  It's only $8 month. Beats cable and satellite prices.

Hi Katheryn

As I go through the Bible each time, I note that God leaves the good, bad, and the ugly--for Kings, rulers and idolatry. He doesn't spare anything or anyone.

I am also a big fan of mysteries (books, TV, movies) and crime documentaries have inched up my list. Reading and spending time watching the movies (I either watch Pureflix or skip TV's sex parts of a show), and am enthralled with the crime procedure, forensics and the characters -- who are always out of control, backsliding, and finding redemption. I am particularly interested in Christian romantic comedies- which are a bit hard to find. My yet-to-be published Christian romantic dramady is part of an everyone's life, called How to Steal a Romance.

I do have a healthy-living cookbook on Amazon, self-published, easiest to find under my (real) name -Cynthia Mahoney FNP that I sold POD to my captive audience.

Cindy/Claire (I answer to either!)

We start in twenty minutes.  Be thinking about the types of TV shows you like. Personally, I like myteries a lot, and old-fashioned shows like The Waltons. Oh, and I like to watch super-hero movies like Spider-Man, Superman.

If you already have one of my 2017 scripture calendars, I will send you incense or tea from the Bible lands - your choice.

Hi, Jacqueline. When I write biblical historical novels, I do a lot of research into the world as it was then. It was a violent world, But I think your word "intriguing" also describes the world then. In each book, my characters interact with what is going on around them - socially, politically, even militarily. It makes them 3D.  Where do you live, Jacqueline?

Just joined. Intriguing.

I'm going to move this to the discussion forum. Hang on.

God certainly did not plot them in the middle of a Bible story with no past and no future. These novels humanize them and help us identify with them, don't you think, Virgiia? At least, that is what I try to do.

I love to read biblical fiction. It is great to see the stories in the Bible fleshed out.

I call biblical historical fiction "commentaries in narrative form".  Some people say this genre is just trying to change the Bible. But such books are little different from commentaries that guess people's or cities' background and why they say or do what they say or do.
